Tanya Lyons' Bio

Tanya Lyons grew up in a small town outside of Edmonton, Canada, and “accidentally” joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in 1993 after graduating from High School. Looking for an opportunity to travel the world and help others Tanya encountered God and missions at the same time, and her life has never been the same!

Tanya has been involved with YWAM for over 15 years, and has lived and ministered in 25+ nations, including a four-year term in Muslim Central Asia, with a focus on training, Bible teaching, and the unreached.

Currently living in Vancouver, Tanya serves as the Discipleship Training School (DTS) Coordinator for Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Canada, a role that involves teaching, coaching staff, and mobilizing youth into missions. YWAM’s motto To Know God and To Make Him Known motivates Tanya in her personal relationship with God and approach to life and sharing Jesus, as well as her ministry in discipleship and training.

Tanya is a member of a number of leadership teams in Youth With A Mission: the Canadian Leadership Team, the International Discipleship Training School Leadership Team, and the Western Canada Leadership Team. In addition she also coleads the YWAM Nexia DTS and Internship programs.

Tanya loves black coffee, geocaching, reading books and talking about them.
